SMILES EVERYONE! ☺
Join me in celebrating my first ever photo blog entry!!!!
To begin, I have FIREWORKS!!!
I couldn’t think of a better photograph to express my excitement about this inaugural blog entry and the kick-off my new website.
This image was taken during the Century Oaks Fourth of July Celebration. The powerful, pyrotechnic extravaganza is an annual event in my neighborhood. Each year, a few brave, creative, and maybe a little bit crazy neighbors choreograph quite a show for our subdivision in Winston, Salem, NC.
This next photo is one from the vault. (Well, really, I found the print in the back of the file cabinet with some early photos.)The Lioness Pair is special to me, because it was my first win in a photo contest. (Tulsa, OK – Zoo – 1987)
I can still remember the thrill of looking through my lens to discover this image staring right back at me! I must admit, it was a little bit unnerving. Was this pair secretly contemplating me for dessert?
So, here I go…nearly 25 years later… celebrating a creative journey that began as a 17 year old in a darkened laundry room with a canister of black and white Tri-X film and a collection of chemicals. Today, I can still be found in the laundry room, but all I’ll be holding is a basket of clothes and the dreams of my next photography project!
My hope is that this blog will be an encouragement to those that view it and that the photographs simply reflect the incredible, indescribable images that GOD himself created.
Only by His Grace! All for His Glory!
